Urban Decay Primer Potion in a Squeeze Tube!

If you hadn't yet heard about Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion packaging swap, I'm here to deliver the news. The Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion, a truly useful staple for maintaining the desired creaseless shadow effect, has long been housed in a bottle which must have been designed more for visual appeal and less for functionality. As consumers expressed opinions regarding the inability to utilize the product in its entirety due to the bottle shape, UD tweaked the design a couple of times, ultimately resulting in the squeeze tube seen below. The days of beauty die-hards across the globe dauntingly disassembling their Primer Potions via cutting, melting or otherwise McGuyvering said product, are now a thing of the past:

Seems like Urban Decay has finally gotten the Potion just right!

Update: Urban Decay Naked Palette

The high demand of Urban Decay's Naked Palette is only somewhat surprising considering the twelve gorgeous neutrals accompanied by a duo liner and the brand's popular Primer Potion. Still though, it can be somewhat aggravating trying to hunt the palette down. If you've been struggling to get your hands on the coveted Naked Palette while it goes in and out of stock online and in stores, I've got pleasant info for you! The Naked Palette is not limited edition and the brand is working on sending shipments to retailers so that everyone will have a chance at getting Naked.

Ulta.com is currently sold out, as is Urban Decay's own site. Purchase now from Sephora.com while the palette is still stocked, or wait just a bit for your favorite retailers to have them on-hand once again.

Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows AVAILABLE

Did you miss out on your chance to purchase the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows when it released the first week of February? I must say, I own the palette myself and I love it, but several of the shadows are renamed shadows that are available in the regular line.

Still want the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows? How bad?

Urban Decay just announced one last opportunity to purchase the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows via their website; the book is available as a collection called Alice's Favorite Things and will set you back $211.

Urban Decay designed this collection very wisely, including two top sellers: the Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder and the Big Fatty Mascara, along with two items that have newly been released: De-Slick in a Tube - Mattifying Gel and Eden Shadow Primer Potion (to let you try them and get hooked), and then a couple of neutral fillers to make the set that much more appealing. Great planning - will you be making this purchase?

This Summer's Formula: SPF (Sunscreen Plus Foundation)

We've just returned from a trip to the beach and I am happy to report that my Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup passed the sand and sun test! Even after swimming in the Atlantic (which, by the way, showed mercy and only tossed a few taller-than-me waves in my direction) my makeup was, surprisingly, intact! Not only did my foundation stay where I'd coaxed it this morning, but my shadow, liquid liner and mascara were unwavering as well! I am still unsure how, as I had a couple of close encounters of the wave kind, but I was quite pleased when I evaluated the results.

For those of you who are curious, today I used: Smashbox Photo Finish Light Primer, Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup in Golden Medium, MAC Powder Blush in Well Dressed, Bare Escentuals Illuminating Mineral Veil, Urban Decay Primer Potion & Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows, Maybelline's Line Stiletto Ultimate Precision Liquid Eyeliner, and Bare Escentuals Flawless Definition Mascara. I may have used additional products but the list was getting embarrassingly long for a relaxing day at the beach...

The Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup's performance was quite impressive, however, there is an option for those who have yet to hop on the mineral makeup bandwagon but want a less heavy look and feel during beachy summer days. Try this simple solution that will help your liquid foundation transition, when being completely made-up is not necessarily the look that you're going for:

Mix a non-greasy formula sunscreen like Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock with your foundation, then apply as you would normally. The product should be about one part sunblock and two to three parts foundation, allowing for coverage while protecting your skin from the sun's harmful rays. Your foundation will instantly be more beach and pool friendly, and with a quick dust of finishing powder or veil, you will be ready for the sun and sand!

Buh bye, Beach Bunny!
