30 Second Beauty Tip!

The concern: a visible foundation line along your jaw.

The solution: mix two parts sunscreen and one part foundation on the back of your hand. Apply by dabbing the mixture along your jawline and neck with clean hands, then proceed to rub the sunscreen/foundation in evenly. By mixing sunscreen in with your foundation and applying along your jaw and neck, you will fade the coverage from medium/full on your face to light coverage on your neck. Use this method to prevent unsightly makeup lines!

30 Second Beauty Tip!

The concern: clumpy mascara. Dun dun dun...

The solution: when you notice that your mascara is beginning to thicken and clump more frequently (we're talking problems on the first coat, let alone the second), run your mascara wand under warm water. The warm water will rinse the buildup of mascara from your wand. Once you've cleaned your wand, dry it and take it for another spin in your mascara tube - the resulting application will likely be less goopy and less likely to clump!

Also, resist the urge to "pump" your mascara wand when trying to accumulate more product - pumping actually contributes to your mascara gooping up and drying out quicker than it should!

2010's Version of Matchy-Matchy

As we've all noticed by this point in the year, 2010's fashion is undoubtedly influenced by all that is ironic - mixing patterns & textures, pairing several shades from the same color family to create a not-quite monochromatic ensemble, wearing rompers & cutesy sockies past the six year old mark, and etcetera. Matching? Well, the shoes to your shirt or eyeshadow to your shirt modus operandi, yeah that's no longer a stipulation. A nice way to keep with the matchy-matchy? How matching gloss and blush will work for you:

Choose the pairing that best suits your current comfort zone. As with trying any trend or new-to-you style, the only way to make it work AND to make sure that you don't buy on a whim, but will actually use the products, is to be reasonable. If you are comfortable with a particular tone of blush, stick with a similar tone when you transfer over to the gloss & blush trend.
